The South Deep Water Tano contract area
The South Deep Water Tano contract area is approximately 3.500 sq.km. and is in the exploration stage. Two ultra deep water wells having been drilled to date, including the significant Nyankom discovery. The contract area is the largest in Ghana and is the furthest away from shore. Prospects in the license area are found in both the Cenomanian, Turonian and Albian play. AGM is the Operator.
Our Petroleum Agreement
The SDWT Petroleum Agreement ("PA") was signed in 2013 among AGM, Government of Ghana and GNPC. It was amended in 2019 based on negotiations between the said parties, and the amendments were ratified in May 2019 and December 2019. Due to extensions caused by ITLOS and COVID-19, the PA remains in the Initial Exploration Period (IEP) and all commitments in this period have been fulfilled. AGM is a proud sponsor of the Operation Hernia initiative, an independent not-for-profit charitable organisation that provides professional and educational opportunities to surgeons and surgical trainees in the repair of long-standing groin hernias at rural hospitals in Ghana.
